The Rotary Club of Edina held its transition meeting, and the final meeting of the 2015–2016 Rotary year, June 30. The presidency of the club transferred from Jennifer Bennerotte to Ann Platt at the meeting. Ann officially took over as the 60th president of the Rotary Club of Edina July 1.

Outgoing Club and Foundation Board members were also honored at the meeting, and incoming board members were announced.

At the meeting, outgoing President Jennifer Bennerotte highlighted the successes of the past Rotary year, and thanked members for their hard work. She was presented the Presidential Citation from outgoing District Governor Tim Murphy. He lauded Jennifer for all her accomplishments, and those of the club, as he gave her the hard-earned citation. Jennifer earned the highest citation—the gold award.
Incoming President Ann Platt outlined her goals for the new Rotary year, and unveiled the 2016–2017 Rotary theme, "Rotary Serving Humanity." Jennifer gave Ann a baseball jersey with "Platt 1" on the back, signifying that Ann is now in charge of the No. 1 Club in the Universe.
Jennifer thanked all the outgoing Club and Foundation Board members and introduced the new members of the boards. Rotarians who have fulfilled their commitment on the club and foundation boards were honored. They include: Jeff Ohe, Past President; Barbara Born, Club Service Director; Gary Pedersen, International Service Director; Josh Sprague, Membership Director—Recruitment; Mary Swendsen, Community Service Director—Local Projects; and Foundation Board members Joe Christensen, Sandy Schley and Paul Mooty. Thank you for your service!

Incoming members of both boards were welcomed to their new roles, including: Deirdre Kvale, Club Service Director; Ed Padilla, International Service Director; Kip Peterson, Community Service Director—Local Projects; Greg Yoch, Membership Director—Recruitment; and new Foundation Board members Scott MacDonald, at-large member; and Gary Pedersen, International Service. Jeff Ohe will continue on the Foundation Board, now as an at-large member. And Josh Sprague will stay on the Club board and join the Foundation Board in his role as Club Secretary. Good luck to all the Rotary directors and officers in the new year!

Jennifer and Ann were both joined by many guests at this special meeting. Jennifer had many co-workers from the City of Edina present, including fellow Rotarians Kaylin Eidsness and Scott Neal. Jennifer's two sons, Jack and Evan, were also at the meeting. Ann hosted her family at the meeting—husband Jim Platt and siblings and in-laws. Her administrative assistant at Pets Are Inn was also in attendance. Congratulations Jennifer on a wonderful year as president! Best of luck in the new Rotary year, Ann!
